Motorola Xoom users in the UK are beginning to get the Android 3.1 update pushed out over the air. The new update is for Xoom 3G owners and is a little different from the Android 3.1 that rolled out to Xoom users earlier this year.
If you remember yesterday, US users of the Motorola Xoom got the Android 3.2 update which only added a small set of features to the device. So why does the UK only get 3.1? Well, 3.1 is different to the 3.1 seen earlier this year in the US in that microSD card support has been added in 3.1 although some features from 3.2 are missing.
One of those particular features missing is the zoom function although Pocket-lint said in testing that they found it a little hit and miss on some apps.
Back on to what the Xoom Android 3.1 update does bring… we see it gets better multi-tasking support as well as wi-fi lock, Adobe Flash (pre-loaded) and other minor updates.
Check your Xoom now for update messages. As mentioned above, those using the WiFi model might not get this update today as it seems to only be rolling out to 3G owners at the moment.
