According to TechCrunch, we could be seeing the iPhone land on the Verizon [VZ] network in January. The reasons for this are related to tracking what components are in demand. In the case of the iPad, large 9.7 inch screens were being built which helped give some of the details away.
What we hear now is that Apple [AAPL] has placed an order for a large amount of CDMA chips. As the iPhone 4 and other models do not currently use CDMA, it is believed that they are being purchased for the Verizon iPhone 4. TechCrunch also go on to say that the iPhone 4 will arrive on Verizon in January 2011.
The chips that have been ordered are being prepared for what is believed to be a December run in producing a new iPhone 4 with CDMA inside in preparation for a January launch.
Of course, we could just add this to the rumours pile again although Engadget also found some details whilst digging through the AT&T [T] earnings report which talk about not being reliant on a single handset.
