ViewSonic has introduced a couple of new devices just ahead of MWC that kicks off in a few days time.
First on the list is the ViewPad 10Pro that is described as being a professional tablet. It has a 10 inch screen and is capable of dual booting between Windows 7 Professional and Android 2.2. The idea behind this is that the user uses Android for email and basic web browsing, but switches to Windows when a little more kick is needed. When running Android, users benefit from the instant-on allowing emails to be checked easily whilst on the move.
The screen is LED backlit and has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The screen is also capacitive touch as can be expected these days.
For connectivity it has built in 3G as well as Wireless and Bluetooth. This particular tablet also runs the Intel Oak Trail platform. No pricing or release date is known for this device (also pictured just below).
Next up is the ViewSonic V350 Smartphone. This particular device has a dual-sim reader built in that allows users to switch between SIM cards. This switching ability makes it possible to use different plans for example as you might have one for business and one for personal, or perhaps a SIM card that has a better data plan while the other has better voice.
The smartphone has a 3.5 inch screen that is capacitive touch and in a HVGA resolution. It runs the Android 2.2 operating system, has a 5 megapixel camera, micro SD as well as all the connectivity you expect to find in a smartphone these days, ie: 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth.
Overall, we think two potentially good devices that we should see more of next week in Barcelona.
