ViewSonic is launching a few tablet computers. One of them is the ViewPad 7. The ViewPad 7 is an Android based tablet that will be launching this year from what we understand.
As well as creating the ViewPad 7, ViewSonic is also creating the ViewPad 100 that will be capable of dual-booting with both Android and Windows 7.
The ViewPad 100 has a 10 inch screen which has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The screen is multitouch but only with a couple of points although it is capacitive touch.
The ViewPad 100 runs an Intel Atom N455 processor and has 1GB of DDR3 memory. With these specs it puts it on par with many Windows based netbooks.
The idea behind the dual booting system is that it allows you to have quick access to email and the internet with Android while the Windows 7 side of things allows you more control over editing documents and makes it more of a PC experience.
According to Slashgear, Chrome OS could be one of the dual-boot options.
Finally, some other specs reveal that it has WiFi (of course) although there is no 3G. For storage it has a 16GB SSD. It is expected to launch in October for around £500.
