Earlier today we mentioned that a Vizio tablet and phone were spotted. Just a few hours ago, the details were not available, but now Vizio has formally announced the devices.
The Vizio Tablet has an 8 inch screen (as previously known) and uses capacitive touch. 3 speakers are built in to the tablet. The tablet also has a front facing video camera.
The phone has a 4 inch display that is also capacitive touch. On the back is a 5 megapixel camera as well as a front facing camera.
Each device is capable of HD and each has a HDMI output allowing you to connect it up to a HDTV. Both devices also have a 1GHz processor along with 802.11n wireless connectivity and Bluetooth. GPS is built in as well as a microSD card slot.
“As part of the VIA Plus ecosystem, the VIA phone and tablet are natural extensions of the HD entertainment experience that historically has centered around the TV,” added Mr. McRae. “Whether consumers are looking to enjoy content on the big screen, on their tablet or on a mobile phone, VIA Plus delivers on the promise of Entertainment Freedom for All by creating a rich and consistent user experience across all devices that’s accessible to everyone, from the power user to the casual browser.”
