Microsoft has announced that the Windows Phone Mango (7.5) release date will be sometime within the next 1 to 2 weeks. In a fairly short blog post the company confirmed that partner companies around the world have been working hard over the last few months to get the new update ready for launch.
For months, we and dozens of our partner companies have been laying the groundwork for the Windows Phone 7.5 update—and making solid progress. As a result, we now expect to start rolling it out in the next week or two. At that time, we’ll also refresh the Where’s My Phone Update? table to reflect the worldwide rollout status.
Microsoft also warns that you should keep clear of homebrew tools and bootleg updates as often they are not designed for a specific smartphone which can lessen the experience. Of course, those who provide these services might argue it another way, so we’ll leave that decision up to you to make.
Expect the update to arrive the last week of September or very early October.
